British pint to go the way of the banana?
A schooner, the equivalent of two-thirds of a pint, is to become available in British pubs. Reuters suggests the British may then 'ditch' the larger measure. From who does Reuters' Avril Ormsby source this terrifying prospect? "The Daily Mail newspaper said the new pint rule, which also applies to cider and lager, represents one of the most radical changes since the pint was introduced by an Act of Parliament in 1698."
If only the smaller measure were mandated by new European regulations!
