Why it's probably just as well New Zealand is a peaceful country: the nation's top military scientist has quit after allegations that his resume falsely claimed he was a former Marine, a nuclear weapons designer, and an Olympic bobsledder who raced against Jamaica's "Cool Runnings" team.
