Fist sledgehammer

DesignMartus's portfolio has some beautiful metalwork on display, around a motif of hands and fists. This wonderful fist sledgehammer would be a fine addition to any toolkit.

i for one can not wait until i see this pop up in a gay porno.

this guys pwns me...
damascus steel and white gold rings...?
uh..drool for this guys shop.

Toolkit? Nay, this needs to be strapped to the back of some hulking post-apacalyptic warrior. FEEL MY FISTS OF FURY, he'd cry.

Cory, wait: you'd use this on an object or surface?!?

I mean, on a person, sure, but not an object. Think of the damage you'd do. (You'd bruise your knuckles.)

BTW, I experienced a bit of cardiac arrhythmia when I saw the ad for Sarah Palin's new book Going Rouge when I previewed and submitted my earlier comment. It was funny the title seemed to be spelled wrong, but that's our Sarah. Wait, I mean Yuck, get it off me!

Fortunately, I realized "her book", like the lady herself, is something else.

I think I'l go have a lie down now. Still not feeling well.

Love the sledge, and "Plant Rack" rocked!

I wonder if it would be crass to ape the sledgehammer or the plant rack in a DIY fashion.

It would feel cheap to mimic someone else's concepts, but they're so simple and awesome...

Oops! That actually wasn't meant to be a reply to any of the other comments. Oh well =p

Does it come in a right-fisted version?

I enjoy it as a piece of art, but I find equal or greater beauty in a well-made tool that will actually serve its intended purpose.

Nice metal work!
however, as someone who uses sledge hammers all the time for work,I'm not so convinced. Weight is a big consideration as well as the handle length ( a too long handle is no good), but mostly it would be such a shame to smash up such nice craftmanship.
As for attacking foes while being pulled on my war sled by polarbears? it's perfect!

Yeah, that falls below the belt for me. Once it's been Mass Produced and Amazoned to death, a DIY knockoff seems fine. But to knock off someone's artisan-work isn't something I want to do.

The only true two handed weapon!

Double the fist.

Looks like a fantasy weapon. A war hammer which will no doubt be copied en masse in cheap materials and adorn the walls of tacky shops that sell fantasy weapons, cheap samurai swords, bongs, leather goods and other dubious items.

It's the STARK FIST OF REMOVAL!

Yeah, either a fantasy weapon or maybe incorporated into an iconic political symbol for some dystopian SF flick...

Now if only someone would craft some railroad spikes with Glenn Beck's face on them, I'd be all set.

Why limit yourself? Fisting isn't just a gay activity.

So I've heard.

y, it's made of metal, at a size mr goatse might find challenging, prob more one for the s/m community. if it was made of silicone, that'd be more like it.

A friend once used lost-styrofoam casting to make a brass warhammer in the form of a hand holding a knife....

I would like to use this thing for some cool high speed photography of things getting crushed.

i'll take an eight pounder, in tool steel, with the peen side in the form of "the shocker." ahem.

Fist sledgehammer? Here's some prior art!
