Zoran sez, "The night before Halloween is known as Mischief Night because it is a time for young people to act out and do things that may get them in trouble with neighbors, with the law, and with satan.
One of those pranks is downloading music illegally, usually in search of a fitting soundtrack for All Hallows' eve, one that will frighten the trick or treaters.
Well this year, we can all focus on bigger and better things, thanks to a set of demonic artists who believe that it is in their interest to give away some of their sonic concoctions for free, because it will help them to cast their spell on a wider audience."

Do they know it's Halloween is one of my late-october faves... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1297394800193055437&hl=en
In most places, however, the night before halloween has no particular name, and the the pranking takes place on halloween. It's the origin of the first part of the phrase "trick or treat" - it's essentially an extortion.
Wow--what an awesome collection! Thanks for the tip, skip. :) I'm always looking for new ways to distribute my own creepy noises as well, so it's looks like the Free Music Archive is perfect!
This is great!
However, I was all excited to put this on as mood music for the trick-or-treaters, so I decided to give a precautionary listen. The first song has a line that goes something like "shove over your lover, time to screw your wife." I believe to minimize the risk of pissing anyone off I'll have to excise that one. So, anyone else who had a similar plan, take note that this playlist may not entirely suit that purpose.
Hmm, it also seems that not all of them are licensed for "performance." Although this wouldn't likely be a problem, I'm now officially too lazy to vet all the tracks, and in the spirit of them giving me something for free, and laziness, I'll respect those wishes.
Time to use videogame music again.
Thanks for posting this! Great mix. I'm always looking for new additions to the Halloween playlist.
And something for those who really enjoy this season. . .
Halloween and Black and orange Magic! Check it out. Jack Skellington fans especially.
Happy Halloween!
UKOMA PEFIGU NOSA LEHITU ROBA!!!
Oooh, I really like this first track. Creepy!
I only wish I had checked the blog an hour ago. The trick or treaters are winding down at my place now.
Nice to see the weasel-word phrase "illegal downloads" is working.
