I love Bladerunner, therefore I require these t-shirts.

nexus.jpg

How did I not know about this film-themed online t-shirt shop before? Last Exit to Nowhere has several really nice Bladerunner-themed t-shirt designs. What set you from? Nexus 6. What's yo hood? Off World Colonies. And More Human Than Human is Our Motto. Also, dig this 2001: A Space Odyssey design. I require one of each immediately.

I have several of their shirts. A bit pricey but great quality. I personally dig the Alien/Aliens stuff. My "Weyland-Yutani: Building Better Worlds" is my fave.

A bit pricey for me, but cool nevertheless. Specially the Hal 9000 shirt.

I like them too but I'd wait on #2 until they improve the Japanese translation.

@Anonymous, Hahahhaha does it say anything embarrassing in Japanese?

Cool stuff, but they might have checked the Japanese with a native speaker before printing it up on (presumably) thousands of shirts. It says something like "New life is wait of colonies of world."

Hell, does anyone know where I can get a Voight-Kampff machine? I wonder about my neighbor - he's really into Glenn Beck - despite the controversy. Might be a skin job... ;-)

@UNDERGROUNDBASTARD, Tyrell don't make no junk. Beck is all meat, baby.

I live in Champaign-Urbana and recently bought the Hal shirt. It is awesome. Walked around Illinois campus and received a TON of looks and comments... mostly about the shirt... LOL

aaaand they're hosted in someone's closet.

@XENI: I guess that rules out Cylon, then.

Hmmm.... Gaius Baltar... GB... Glenn Beck...

Hmm somehow babelfish translated Japanese nonsense just isn't as amusing as Engrish...

Wake up. Time to shop.

...Seriously, I want these like yesterday.

Anybody know if the term "skin job" was consciously lifted from Blade Runner for Battlestar Galactica or was it just a coincidence? (I'd bet on the former since Edward James Olmos hunted 'em in both.)

Link to the site, HAL.

Sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Actually the Japanese translation is almost spot on for an advertising catchphrase which has been shortened for brevity. There is only one small grammatical error near the end. Atarashi seimei wa sekai no colony no matsu...should read...Atarashi seimei wa sekai no colony de matsu.

@BRAINSPORE: Great catch on EJO being in Bladerunner; I totally forgot. According to the Battlestar wiki, it was a conscious homage:

The Japanese is not at all spot on...
新生活は地球外コロニーで待っている
shinseikatsu ha chikyuugai koroni-de matteiru
would be closer to the original and grammatically correct. Plus it adds more Kanji, making it look cooler than just jamming a bunch of Kana.

I really like the designs for some of these. I'd order but most of them look like shit because of that "decades old" filter they use to make them look used. I want mine new. I'll break them in myself.

I agree they are a little too pricey. Worse is the fact they use those guildan t-shirts which are the most shapeless and badly fitting shirts you can find.

There are also these similar shirts on another site, http://www.wakeuptimetodie.co.uk/tyrell-corporation-61-p.asp#

@THEMARK:

My Japanese isn't what it should be, but help me out here: that looks to me like something along the lines of "wait for a new life in the world colony". Seems a bit different from OFF-world colony, don't you think?

Definitely getting BB'd now... I have an image of a server banging around in someone's closet as it gets assaulted... Thanks #10.

Why can't someone do this with a more subtle approach?? I'd love to have the HAL or Weyland-Yutani logo as a small embroidered patch on a polo chest or sleeve. Something I could actually wear to work.Patiently waiting for that Nostromo cap to get back in stock though. MUST HAVE.

I bought the Morrie's Wigs shirt just in time to show it off at comic con. Not the best place for a line from a scene from GoodFellas, I guess, since not one nerd mentioned it!

I want a Nostromo crew jacket. That would be sweeeeet.

Funny I just watched BRunner for the first time in years on Monday night. It immediately reminded me of Bioshock. The scene where Decker fights Pris...lots of similarities. Water in the building, coming down everywhere, Pris as a Splicer, even the acrobatics. Mannequins, art deco, music and voice from unseen sources, it was great. The Bioshock creators nailed the BRunner feel.

Great that they only have a few styles instead of making a logo and printing it on mouse pads, coffee cups and everything else.

Is of course much better, in fact, it's exactly perfect, but seldom seen in advertising, where the text is often brief to the point of being incorrect. And your use of 生活 seikatsu implies a new life that is just like the one you're leading now, rather than 生命 seimei which allows for a little more interpretation as to what is your new life. Of course we could debate this over and over, but to be honest, here in Japan, the whole thing would probably be in English anyways.

I also have a couple of their tees. Very cool style. I also have a couple from another movie tee website, Arcaneprojects.com They also have a very cool style and t-shirt quality is just as good. They have a quite a few different designs with some being a bit more esoteric. And a wider range of colour choice, anyway Check em' out!!
