Alternate title: Hand models becoming increasingly rare commodity.

"Here's a ring for tenderizing a tiny steak."

...or someone's face. 0_0

The only meat this will ever tenderize is going to be on the side of someone's head. I see good business selling these to ne'er do wells at flea markets and the like

@1 My thoughts exactly. Wouldn't want that ring 'tenderizing' my eye o_o"

Yes, Aneurysm, that was my thought too. You'd have to punch a steak to use it for that. A viciously communicative ring.

By any other name, brass knuckles. Except it isn't brass.

"Leave a strong impression during your next fisticuffs!"

"Tender is the night...stalker!"

"Don't love me tender, bro!"

"Make a mark with this illegal tender!"

why is the hand yellow?

Seems appropriate that the ring is on the middle finger...

for a second there i thought it was some kind of crime ring:

Apple Store Thief Crime RIng
and now
Meat Tenderizing Ring - breaking into butchers with tough meat and pounding the shit out of them.

Rocky should've worn these while he was training.

I tend to use the Sleeper Choke on my own meat, but this may help the weak-wristed (or their "cooking" partners) with their meat-beating efforts.

I'm not a fighting expert by any means, but I wouldn't use this to punch anyone. Brass knuckles work because they deliver the force of the punch across a smaller surface area. This looks kind of.. wide. You could break skin, but probably not bones.

Well, you might break your own finger. Look at where the ring sits, right in the middle of the longest finger. Think of all that pressure concentrated right on the middle of that bone. When you punch, you don't want the pressure on your fingers. You want to punch with your lower knuckles, wrist straight, so that the pressure goes down into the much stronger bones of your arm.

I've always wondered about brass knuckles, but it looks like most of them have a grip you hold in your closed fist. Maybe the pressure is meant to be absorbed there, rather than across the fingers.

At any rate, I'll tell you what my taekwondo teacher told me. Curl your fingers in as tight as possible and then lock your thumb over them. Never punch with your thumb inside your fingers unless you want to break it. Clench your hand tight as you punch, and your muscles will help protect your bones and joints. Wrist straight, and punch with the bottom knuckles of your index and middle finger.

And remember, the best self-defense strategy is to avoid fights altogether whenever possible. Maybe this ring could help by making you look fearsome. ;)

My friend Vinny has one of these.

yep agree with #13.

Brass knuckles are across multiple knuckles thus distributing force across the whole hand and braced the blow on the palm. This thing will snap your finger and twist and puncture your other finger.

Mostly for show.

On the contrary: I think they chose the hand model quite well; I wonder how many handsome, well-moisturised corporate alpha-male hands they had to go through to find someone whose hands give off that ineffable quality of rough-hewn goonishness that does the product justice.

Wearing this virtually guarantees you won't get your finger bitten off by an idiot at a rally.

only for slapping/drawing strikes.
