Classic Penguin books designs

Spencer sez, "This guy is a former Penguin Books designer who's posted a couple of collections of images that are downright mouthwatering if, like most designers, you're a fan of Penguin Books' design."

Isn't this guy about to be sued into oblivion now?

After all, this is the company that made the case that they owned the word 'Penguin' for all publications worldwide, and therefore a small regional 'Penguin Software' could not exist!

Never mind that they published no software nor owned the phrase, an (American, of course) court ruled they owned the word for almost any use except the bird itself.

WOW

Jan T!
(P published nicely designed - but ephemeral books. Most of mine are rather worse for wear)

I spent some time browsing through the Penguin covers on his photostream; when I looked at my browser history to return to an earlier cover I found that the book title combined with the website & turned the list into a joke:

On a Certain Blindness in Human Beings on Flickr

I still remember the first time I went to London and saw a display of all the Penguin books together and being so very excited about all the orange stripes lined up on shelf after shelf. I bought several that I had known existed but which were not sold in the U.S.

Yes, this was before the internet was in common usage.
