Meet the Hon. James David Manning, PhD.

OMFG. So, over at Dangerous Minds, Richard Metzger has a very scary/funny post about an extreme right-wing African-American media personality many are calling "the Black Glenn Beck." In the clip above, he seems to be inciting white people to start a race war, using talking points from white supremacist organizations. "White people are being kicked around, having their rights kicked to the curb, having their tax dollars fund prostitution... y'all gonna push these white folk 'til they can't take it no more?"

Richard says:

His favorite thing to call the President, however, is “the long-legged Mack Daddy.” Manning also hates Michelle Obama, has called her ugly, a slut and has even suggested she visit the same plastic surgeon as Michael Jackson. Manning’s Trinity of Hell is comprised of Obama, Oprah Winfrey and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. It should probably come as no surprise that he’s been a guest on Sean Hannity’s Fox News and radio shows.

Manning is proud to call himself an extreme right winger and is beloved of birthers, survivalists, Obama haters, the NRA and other assorted wingnuts. On his five days a week, three hours per day talk show, which he co-produces with his wife, he does bizarre and extremely unfunny “mock interviews” with Fidel Castro, prays fervently for Bristol Palin and he even had “author” Lawrence W Sinclair (“Brother Lawrence” as Manning calls him) of Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder? infamy on as a guest.

Xeni-Thank you for keeping your posts diverse. No pun intended, OK maybe a little.

But I really love how you shake it up. What a trip. You gotta wonder if this guy knows it makes money.

A black Malkin, or is she a brown Manning?

I am surprised that he does not refer to himself as Dr. James Manning, PhD.

At this point in my life things like this don't phase me. People spewing irrational logic, hate mongering, and fear tactics isn't that abnormal for any talk radio show at this point. It's what gets the ratings. Unless your Oprah that's how it is going to be played, see Jerry Springer...

My parents lean toward the right, much more than myself, but I find it fun to discuss things with them. And 9 times out of 10 we all end up on the same page. I believe any single individual can and will make logical and reasonable choices if presented with clear and concise facts. Put that same person in a crowd, water down the facts, throw in a few off color lies, and yeah they follow the herd pretty quick. I believe the internets call them sheeple.....

This reminds me of the Dave Chappell skit about the Black White Supremacist.

For those who haven't seen the skit, it's about a blind black man who grows up in the deep south. No one ever tells him he's black, so he becomes a white supremacist.

Later, he finds out he is black. He ends up divorcing his wife for being a "n***** lover".

long-legged, half-breed usurper?

btw, James David Manning's "PhD" was bestowed from his own "All The Land Anointed Holy" (i.e. Harlem) Theological Seminary, an unaccredited educational institution.

O-Come-On He awards himself a Ph.D. from his own unaccredited institution and you append it after his name like it means something? Don't dignify the fraud.

One of my older right-wing relatives sent this to me just the other day in his weekly fwds that, I think, are meant to help me see the light. The comments earlier in the chain were half serious misguided notions mixed with hilarity. They certainly didn't seem to be giving this guy any respect but were pleased to have such a distinguished black man (He's got a PhD!) on their side.

Yeah, and that crazed leftist socialist national healthcare loving filmmaker John Pilger called our savior Obama a marketting creation too. Oh wait, he's not a right winger, so I can't dismiss him as a wacko while the Left is in power can I?

Wait, which hand is my Left? which is my Right? I'm so confused.

If you criticize Mr. Beck as being the white version of Dr. James David Manning, then obviously you have never watched his show or read any of his materials. Stop reading the NYT and watching Obermann and draw your own conclusions.

He's smart enough to have figured out that 'nutjob' is the easiest way to higher ratings.

This guy's gone wrong. Is it any wonder why people who can't take actual dialogue bring their opinions to one-way airwaves? I just saw "Inglorious Basterds" and this leaves me more queasy.

Anyway, he's not a PhD:

I even doubt if hes honorable.

Manning's church is just a few blocks from where I live in Harlem. His earlier, and ongoing, claim to fame is the "No De, Nor Rain" boycott of nearly all businesses in Harlem except hair salons. The purpose of the boycott is to drive down real estate prices so that gentrifier's sell to "indigenous" Harlemites.

Or something. The actual philosophy is, as you might expect, not very clear.

He's also a disgruntled Hillary supporter. He's commented that Obama's father "went a-whorin' for white trash" and has stated you can't trust an African-American man who hasn't been arrested.

He was also part of the "We The People" Tax Fraud press conference last December that intoduced Dr. Orly Taitz on an unsuspecting world.

Should explain to non-US people (like me, but I like to keep up with this lunacy) that his ranting against MSNBC and Oprah and such is part of the received stupidity of the barking-mad Right.

That is, the Mainstream Media is part of the leftist conspiracy.

According to this theory left-leaning journalists are able to supervene their various editorial boards and management and advertisers so that only their Marxist viewpoint holds sway.

The Fox network, of course, is the vanguard of community activism against Socialism in this crazed narrative.

As a Libertarian, I support all 10 amendments of the Bill of Rights, and am a card-carrying member of the ACLU as well. The 2nd Amendment is just the one that is regularly attacked by the left as being out-of-place among the other nine, yet it is the 2nd Amendment that allows us to defend all of the others from being repealed by Congress.
