Where does bowl go?

This IS a bong, isn't it?

No seriously. It's gotta be a bong.

I believe this to be a fine example from the late Bong Dynasty.

Finally, a dustbuster that lets you smoke whatever you pull up out of the carpet!

That's clearly heavily "influenced" by Boba Fett's ship Slave One.

Looks like a bong you can smoke while doing the ironing and playing with a yoyo...

I'm not sure if he's been highltighted on Boing Boing, but since Chinese ceramics gave rise to Delft, check out the work of Seattle's own Charles Krafft. He makes Delft Ak-47s, skateboards, or even dishware of the fire-bombing of Dresden.

Yes, I believe the quotes in the link should have been around the word vases instead of Ormolu, and where's the *coff* carb on this muthafukr *coff*!?

Is this Boing-Boing, or bong-bong?

Its lovely work, but I think the next step is to ditch the original Chinese vases, and go whole heartedly with the ceramic mecha thing. Its got a real aesthetic of its own that would stand well without pushing the traditional connection - which I think is sufficiently implied by the medium.

Also did anyone notice the work pictured looks like a bong?

Joking aside, I like this stuff much better than i like those Hummel or Royal Dalton figurines. But I doubt that my grandma would agree.

I think if the vase was straight up and down, and not slanted like that, and didn't have the extra stuff on it... basically changed it entirely... it would look significantly less like a ming/manga bong. gurgle-gurgle-gurgle-gurgle. (cough).

I'd hate to have to describe this object in a police report.

Officer: "Can you describe the stolen vase?"

Me: "Uh...no."

Dude, wait... what?

Well, it's nice to read that pretty much everyone thought 'bong' when looking at this. It does make any sort of bong joke I could make redundant but that's how it is.

So I immediately had the same thought as everyone else, but then thought that it might just be that one example.. nope, they're all bongs. If Tang's career as an arteest doesn't pan out, he could knock a bunch off the price and just sell very slightly modified pieces to high-dollar potheads.

heeey, maaan, wanna come over and watch some anime?

If you brought one of these through an airport luggage check, they'd take it away from you, because they confiscate bongs without a second thought.
