Wikileaks publishes large cache of US neo-Nazi group's emails
Anyway, Wikileaks has published them all, and you can browse through chronologically, or by author, or download the whole lot of 'em for fun weekend reading. Yeah, there's a lot of what you'd expect in here. The one funny light spot was finding utterly banal spam for Bing.com, and "back-to-school specials" and ancestry.com promotions mixed in with the more sobering stuff like this:

It is good this kind of thing has been leaked. We should all be aware there are closeted Aryans out there, maybe living next door to us, who are ready to don the swastika when the "time is right." I look forward to the day when we can put aside antiquated terms like "race" and stop seeing the world in terms of competition of skin colors. Let's switch to laundry detergents. Reading this wikileaks post reminded me of something... A while back, maybe in 2005 or 2006, bb posted an article about a website where one could type in a name of someone (e.g. a Cabinet member) and explore their ties to others in a position of power, whether in industry, academia, or politics.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction? (I've had no luck even with site- and time- restricted searches.) Thanks!

FWIW, the best thing the White Supremacists can do for their cause is to fight against global warming. Genetic immunities have been found in African and South American populations against malaria, schistomiasis, leishmaniasis, susceptibility to parasitic worms, and other tropical diseases and conditions that spread as the climate warms. As far as we know, European populations lack such genes. So there's a "racial threat" for them. Maybe their dumb anger can be steered towards something useful?

Geez, not these 'tards again. The worst of it it that there are plenty of people, of ALL shades of skin tone, dumb enough to get suckered into the same line of "thinking." Basically, "national socialism" (i.e. naziism) is supposed to be a form of socialism - but with this weird emphasis on "nationality." Basically, the Nazi regime decided that if they didn't think you were "German" enough, you couldn't participate in their economic reforms. Oh, and if you remained inside territory that they claimed, then you were a parasite and needed to be exterminated (or used for cheap labor, then exterminated). Their criteria for deciding who was or was not "German" included religious preference, religious heritage, and antiquated concepts of "race," something any biologist worth his or her salt can tell you doesn't actually exist. Yeah, our bodies over long periods of time will adapt to various environmental conditions - but we're all the same primate species. I find it really bizarre that Hitler used the term "Aryan" to describe Nordic types; the Aryans were an ethnic group from the north of India - that is, the Rom, or ethnic "Gypsies." He actually sent quite a few Aryans to the gas chambers.

@bbninja: I'll see your "white guy" and raise you a "nearly pure German", and I agree. These guys - and people of any race who think like them - have got to be the saddest bunch on the planet. It's probably wishful thinking to hope for the day when we are all so racially mixed that it ceases to matter. People will insist on finding some reason or other to rank themselves higher than the next guy.
As soon as your sole source of confidence and pride are things you didn't do anything for - e.g. being born in a country or being born with a specific skin color - you've got a real problem. Nationalism and the feeling to be superior because of the enormous accomplishment of being born in a country is really rather silly and the root of all evil, when you think it through.
That said, Nationalism und Racism probably gives you the warm and fuzzy feeling of belonging to a superior group when you've got nothing else.

Yes, it is truly bizarre indeed. Then again, German belongs to the "indogermanic" language family which might explain things. But basically "Aryan" was re-branded, as we'd say today, in pitching one "race" against the "Semitic race" (Arabians were excluded there, btw). It was all a bit random, in a way.
It's tribalism pure and simple. "Us" versus "them" and race is and easy marker for "us" and "them", at least if you don't think about it too deeply.
IIRC the Japanese were granted "honorary aryan" status by the Nazis because it's a bad idea in wartime to piss off the only meaningful ally you have left.
While I'm sure everyone has good intentions, the "there's no such thing as race" comments don't really help anything.
There is such a thing as race, and we all know it. Just because it's a social construct as opposed to a genetic characteristic doesn't make it any less real. Racism will not be solved by you and I professing that we're all the same on the inside, and that none of this race stuff matters. It will be solved by acknowledging that race plays a huge role in oppressing certain people in our society, that we are part of the cause of that oppression and therefore have the power to help stop it.
Race/Racism isn't a religion that you can either choose to believe in or not. It's a social system that operates regardless of your feelings about it. In order to end racism, we have to actively confront its presence in our lives.
