Crasher Squirrel is the new Dramatic Chipmunk

heads-of-state.jpg

The little fella sure does get around. Mashable has ten examples of "crasher squirrel as meme" photoshoppery right here, but I bet many more exist. Why don't you tell me about them in the comments.

You could see that coming from a mile away.

Doesn't make it any less awesome, though.

Awesome? I'm sorry, but I'm a kinda guy who get's into memes- and 'Crasher Squirrel' is. . . a fail in meme history.

Couldn't they have actually shooped him OVER K J-I? They're about the same colour and expression...

The background should be out of focus for the full effect.

After adding the lil' fuzzball to half my personal vacation photos, I finally got it out of my system with this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11383966@N02/3818838699/

People need to blur whats behind the squirrel.

If you dont then there is no size reference!

I personaly prefer a sneaky squirrel over a dai-kaiju squirrel..

I like the squirrel at Machu Picchu: http://blogs.nationalgeographic.com/blogs/intelligenttravel/2009/08/daily-radar-081409.html

There are more than 300 squirrel mashups posted on BuzzFeed, and you can use their "Advanced Squirrel Crasher Technology" at the end to make and submit your own:

Stunningly rapid transition to meme.

Your grandchildren will see that image.

I took my 16-year-old son on a bit of a road trip earlier this month. Destination: the corner of Moose and Squirrel in Banff. Throughout our trip across B.C. and Rockies we encountered ground squirrels -- in the well-visited tourist areas they were very tame and usually approached us looking for handouts. I'm sure the Minnewanka squirrel was no different.

And here he is -- about 5 km south in the Banff townsite at the corner of Moose and Squirrel: http://www.flickr.com/photos/b-a-r-b/3822553790/

It's only funny if the background image is out of focus.

That's it, I'm officially in love with Xeni. I'm taking a number.

I'm too lazy to edit this squirrel into nature photography, but that would take the cake.

I'd particularly like a series of copulation photos where it appears he is covering 'the action'.

Yes, that is immature... but it would be quite chuckling.

This is actually a British police officer, who, despite being on holiday (a world tour) is still unable to resist the temptation to hassle photographers!

Crasher Squirrel seriously needs to get some instrumental chops going on before I can rate him in the same milieu as Keyboard Cat.

I think these would be better if the photoshoppers would blur the image behind the squirrel, like happened to the original...

#17 I agree with you, the background image has to be blurred for authenticity, which is why I did that with my own remix! http://blog.kosmonaut.net/?p=357

The crasher squirrel photoshoppers have failed to notice one tiny thing: Crasher Squirrel caused the autofocus to focus on him, with the original focus-ees now slightly out of focus.
