Savanna Snow's "Charming Cobras" paintings

Phenomenal figure painter Korin Faught turned me on to the work of her pal Savanna Snow, a terrific Berkeley-based artist who has a solo show opening this Friday, July 31, in Los Angeles. The exhibition titled "Charming Cobras," is at the Reform School store/gallery. According to Snow, this lovely collection is "an exploration of Vedic text, pattern & the infinity of India. All hail the hand of Q*Bert!

Ha! I like how cubism has evolved into a reference to Q*Bert!

fail.

this is SO much closer to qbert than cubism,
considering none of the rest of her art seems particularly "cubist".

cubism is not, in fact, pictures of cubes...

EIDEAL852@3, I'm well aware of what cubism is. And I didn't describe her art as cubist. I was making a joke regarding the pattern in the artwork of the hand, in response to the Q*Bert reference. However, in all seriousness, that pattern isn't an uncommon motif in cubist works.
