Beautiful, sustainable, *glowing* Penny Arcade conference table

Jeffrey sez, "We just finished making this fancy table for Penny Arcade. It's full of crazy teak and resin inlay, all sustainable woods, and get this: the moon center bit glows in the dark. We made it that way as a surprise, and didn't tell them about it prior! You can see it in the 'making of' video that's at the end of the blog post. To make it even better, it costs the same as a normal boring 'mid-level' large conference table from an office furniture store. Take that, Ikea and DWR.com!"

Penny Arcade themed conference table (Thanks, Jeffrey!)

Russell's Teapot! Clever, clever, clever.

Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. The price is definitely reasonable given the labor and materials involved, but does Ikea even have a table anywhere within sight of that price range?

I wonder if I could get a smaller table done for us... hm.

Forgive me for making the conversation crass by bringing up money, but DAMN, webcomics must be lucrative at the top. I know there are only a handful that make that kind of bank, but the PA boys are surely on top of that heap. That is some nice furniture.

They should make a few dozen and put them in the Merch store. ;-)

I've seen some of their stuff up close, and it's lovely. My girlfriend lusts after a matched set of their Presidents Chairs.

"costs the same as a normal boring 'mid-level' large conference table" is that including labor?

It's beautiful.

Please Please wear a respirator when pouring and sanding resin.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!

(the resin is Epoxy, no smell, and when we sand it's with high-end Festools hooked to a HUGE dust collector that's armed with hospital-quality filters... thanks for worrying about us tho!)

Awesome table! Must learn more about working with glow-in-the-dark materials.

Also... a webcomic needs a conference table?
