Well, what if I want to perform in public every fucking day and I'm Paranoid Larry (or Batman) and my get-up is not a costume but my everyday garb of choice!? What is the legal definition of "costume," fuckers?!

Can a suit be a costume, ever? Or do I have to be wearing my underwear over my pants or tie-dye my knickers to qualify for costume-age?

If I was in the Army, but I wear a Marine combat uniform in Times Square and film myself, is that a violation of costume-age law? I am so confused!

Fucking NYC is the greatest place on earth run by a bunch of fascist cops who can arrest anyone whenever they please... I guess I'll just keep quiet in public and, instead, vent online...

At first blush, I would also be more likley to give the guy a quarter over a job interview or pop-culture spotlight... maybe that's why I'm not making $140-million a year as Simon Cowell....

I've seen Larry perform and met him a couple times around Brooklyn, and he's a wonderful performer, a sweet man, and local songwriting genius. His song "Jesus Shaves" is a true classic, right up there with the best of Loudon Wainwright or John Prine.
