Mario recreation on India's Got Talent

Here's a superior group of young Indian gamers recreating Super Mario onstage for an installment of the reality TV show "India's Got Talent."

India's got talent- Mario game (Thanks, Kvaid!)

I'm only familiar with Mario 64 and onwards.
Does that vid follow the plot of a particular game?

Not as far as I'm aware - no Mario games include any Rob Dougan, either (which, frankly, is an appalling crime, but that's by the by).

What it is is pretty inventive and it takes some interesting liberties with its source material, which is always nice. There's more visually impressive stuff out there, but you can't really fault their execution or flair.

But "matrix ping pong" is still my favourite.

Up until the boss fight it is very much the original NES version. From there it just gets weird =)

Still great overall!

The judge is Kirron Kher, a terrific actress. She was fantastic in Devdas.

Boring and tedious inside joke confused for talent, once again.

JWB, I fail to see how a stagecraft recreation of what is arguably the most popular game of all time could be considered an 'inside joke'. Also, it may be silly, but to pull off something like that using people takes an awful lot of skill and imagination. Tedious? Maybe you were thinking of 'Trite', as Mario does get appropriated an awful lot. Several good dictionaries are freely available online.

Some of the judges look like they have no idea what is going on at all.

What is a great need for creativity and the freedom of some interesting, and its source material, which is always very happy. There's more impressive visual effects the existence of things, but you can not perform or failure of talent.

@felix mitchell

The look on the judges' faces is exactly the same as my mother's expression when I tried to explain blogs to her.

Also, I would be willing to wager any number of quatloos that at least one of the judges' main responses was, "I really liked how colorful it was."

They left out the most interesting moment in this video. The leader of this group was taken to a local police station and beaten violently, because they couldn't believe that someone from the slums was able to pull off such an imaginative and creative stunt.

They got on TV (albeit India's got talent) ripping off the people who already did this for college/high school talenht shows. They didn't do a very interesting rendition. they did not innovate or improve upon previous performances. lather, rinse, repeat. the race was already over, the emperor is still nude, live action SMB has long jumped the shark.

still...
# 18 for the win

To the surprise of many. Iam sure the Mario group has not been selected in the next round. Its not because they had a healthy competition but because only INDIA GOT TALENT but the Judges of Indias Got Talent sure have no talent to judge!!
I am sorry for the amazing grp
