I was just telling someone about those hilarious Shrek bits the other day! Too bad they were scrubbed from the intertubes... I was suprised and pleased to see that a few had been reposted to MySpace somewhere, but does anyone know if they're ALL still living somewhere?

OMG Tim and Eric is the dumbest thing on TV and I hate it so much and you're a dumb person for liking Tim and Eric!

There, that's out of the way.

For your health!

These guys make me feel old 'cause I just don't get it. As far as I'm concerned, they blend the worst of the Farrelly Brothers and the worst of the Pythons then distill it a thousand times into complete and utter inanity.

Ah, rememeber Sealab 2021? Now THERE was a show....

Don't like it. Nothing funny about taking a mediocre joke and running it into the ground for 15 minutes at a time. I loved Tom goes to the Mayor, but I can't can't bring myself to appreciate this.

Nonny,

That was a little harsh. Why don't you take the day off.

I read a few people saying "they just don't get it". Well, how about this one to blow your mind. There's nothing to "get". It's just two guys having fun. I went to their live show this year in DC, and I haven't seen a stage show with that much enthusiasm in a long long time.

Or look at it this way; if you don't get it, then maybe the joke is just on you!

Remember when Homer got popular dancing at the Isotope's games, but when they brought him up to the majors, his crap just didn't cut it? We're seeing a lot that these days, especially on these internets (and America's Got Talent).
Come to think of it, most of the issues that come up in life have been covered by The Simpsons. God Bless Matt Groening! Actually... Groening wasn't funny until he hooked up with James Brooks.
Scratch that, God- bless James Brooks! There.

I think a lot of people's (myself included) problem with these two is that other people have done everything they have done....and done it better, years and years before. They bring nothing new to the comedy table, but people unaware of their comedic predecessors proclaim that they are awesome....unaware that they are so unoriginal. They haven't done anything that SNL, The Kids in the Hall, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Andy Kaufman, Monty Python and countless other comedy troops and comedians haven't done before....and better.
Surreal, embarassing, borderline disugusting, in-jokey, amature-on purpose comedy is nothing new....and they don't even do it well.

Hey Troof, Ya Blew It!

Pecoto: I can't speak for all T&E fans (obviously), but isn't it possible to be a fan of ALL those comedians? Just because somebody else did it first makes it less funny? I suppose Kids in the Hall is less funny than Andy Kaufman, just because they came second?

In case you haven't noticed, there's really not a lot that hasn't been done before, and hell, Tim & Eric have their own distinct variation on the theme that I happen to enjoy. Unless they get into blatant ripping off of another act, I'm all in favor of new versions of classic styles of comedy.

I think Troof and Pecoto hit the nail on the head, and put my disdain for T&E into words better than I have. Despite the registering of my disgust on every thread about T&E, I still don't think I've properly expressed why I can't stand these guys.

It is definitely funny, you just gotta get past the weird and don't think about it too much. It is a bunch of highly ridiculous awesomeness.

i'll be there again this year. it's a fun time.

I love the people that don't get this show. That is fantastic.

It makes it easy to quickly identify and sort those that I probably never want to be very close friends with.

These same people probably own multiple copies of the latest Ben Stiller movie and watch it twice a month.

I'm shocked that David Liebe Hart, etc are still going. I saw David on the Santa Monica Pier today and he said he and the other public access figures were fired from the show. He's selling caricatures for $5 a piece.

ha! what is there to get? and yeah kids, you're real winners for "making my disdain of t&e known on every board". wasting time perhaps? maybe some of the skits hit a little too close to home eh? "i'm a middle aged man, and i live with my dad"... bwah! keep commenting on the things you don't like, that'll teach 'em. phaw!

I love Tim and Eric.

Best episode: The Universe. So many good segments in that one. Try it out, new friends.
