Canadian Tory talking-points leaked

Wikileaks has published a talking points memo from the Canadian Conservative Party, intended to form the standard stump speech/letter-to-the-editor/op-ed for the week:

I love how it's called the Tackling Violent Crime Act. Why not the Punch Violence in the Face Act?
this is a scare tactic ,Canada's crime level is very low compared to the U.S.
I wonder what is an 'unreal crime' for them then, since they had to specify as they did at the end?
I get a constant stream of spam style mail and email from the Conservative Party of Canada. There is never any substance to the positive claims in it. But worse, there is always a lot of negativity with faux substance. The latest email from CoP's National Campaign Director Doug Finley attacks Michael Ignatieff:
"Did you know that Michael Ignatieff spent over 30 years away from Canada - more than half his life?
Did you know that while away he went so far as to call Britain and then America his country? And that he even told an interviewer the only thing he missed about Canada was Algonquin Park?
How about that Ignatieff, who claims to represent all the people, admits to being flattered when people call him by his aristocratic title - 'Count Ignatieff' - and actually brags about being "horribly arrogant,' 'cosmopolitan' and even an intellectual 'samurai'?"
Thank you for that warm greeting. (haha! Canada being cold joke?)
I always enjoy being back in [Community].
I don't know why, but that line makes me laugh. Perhaps it's the feigned sincerity.
I wonder if Attack Ads will be addressed by the 'Tackling Violent Crime Act'.

Way to go to stretch the election campaign to all year long, Stevie...

Food?
you know what I'm talkin aboot.
This is really fascinating. Does anyone know if any republican talking points in the united states have been leaked?
There should be a website that does nothing but publish talking points, since it does a nice job of removing what's just propaganda and what's actual news.

I'm pretty sure that all major political parties issue "talking points" to their candidates.
Joe in Australia
Yes, they do issue talking points to candidates - but we're nowhere near an election. This is talking points for MPs to use to address their constituency associations, when they go home for the May long weekend.
FYI for outsiders - this is classic Steven Harper. He won't let the Minister of Education talk about education, the Minister of Defense talk about military issues, or the Minister of Agriculture talk about agriculture, unless the PMO has issued the script. Basically it looks from here like he's appointed a bunch of lackeys and yes-men to his cabinet.
The reform party oops I mean Conservative Party, means by the 'real crime" remark, that they consider ANY marijuana use/growing as a "real crime" hence the large increase in penalties therefore: that is the major effect of these changes (Hi, mandatory jail terms for marijuana offenses!): to get at pot smokers, nothing else.
Strangely enough, here in toronto, none of the wiki leaks download sites work. I have trouble believing the Federal government is technically savvy enough to block the download of such a thing, but still, a bit strange. Can someone repost it somewhere?
