Toronto Comic Arts Festival today!

Today is the start of programming at the Toronto Comics Arts Festival, featuring everyone from Scott McCloud to R.Stevens and plenty in between. It's on at the Metro Reference Library, with the show starting at 9 and the programming starting at 10. I can't find any info on admission prices -- I know it was free in years gone by, though.

Both exhibition days (Saturday and Sunday at Toronto Reference Library) are totally free to attend. The 09 TCAF page is here, with details of guests and panels.

I went to the Toronto Comic Festival some years ago (I don't recall if it had the "arts" part in the name) and it was fantastic. I don't remember if it was free, but it must have been very close to free because I didn't have any money in those days.

I'm a thousand miles away, but if you're nearby, I recommend it.

Tara McPherson was signing stuff yesterday (05/08/09) at Narwhal by the Magic Pony, she's here for TCAF and you have to stop by her table, she's amazingly amazing!

I'm sitting here wishing that I still lived in Toronto. I would've loved this. The Reference Library is hands down my favorite Toronto haunt and the comics festival factor just adds to it's overall awesomeness.
