Here's a clever Russian Roulette toy from a Korean shop -- take turns pulling the trigger until one of you drops the hammer on the chamber that pops the balloon.
I'd be mildly worried if my children were playing with that toy. Mostly because I didn't know I had any children. Worrying, that, spontaneous appearance of children.
This is actually a very old invention. I remember going to a fund raiser party with my Mom as a kid at least 15 years ago and they had a gun just like this. It had a little needle that would pop the balloon, and there wasn't the band, you had to hold the balloon to your head between the gun. The party guests were making bets on the trigger pulls.
Because, you know, kids love russian roulette!
Those crazy Rus-
I mean Koreans!
There's a lot of weird toys that come out of the eastern hemisphere. Like the "Shave the Baby" playset...
This gift is great for potential suicides. Good for practice.

Toys aren't just for kids - this thing would probably be awesome at parties.
This just begs to be used for a humorous re-enactment of that scene in "The Deer Hunter".
"I want to have that."
Seriously, that would be fun at parties. Yes, it's morbid and maybe not appropriate for some, but come on, it's awesome!
My ears are stabbing in pain just looking at this.
Wouldn't it be dangerous for that thing to go off right by your head?

I've always wanted to play russian roulette, but it just seemed too dangerous. Now I've finally found my answer!
Holy smokes!!!!!!!!! A training toy for Russian roulette. Wow........
I would love to see this on g4's AOTS, and used on Olivia Munn who has a huge balloon phobia!
this is silly,
the way to play russian roulette is those
nerf gun six shot revolvers.
load one nerf dart
spin chamber
cock, click
cock, click
cock POP!
heh.

"Wouldn't it be dangerous for that thing to go off right by your head?"
About as dangerous as a normal balloon - not very, if at all.
Thank you Darren Garrison.
For sure safer that the real one!
Funny idea!
Can someone confirm it in fact is russian roulette? or does it push needle out with every trigger pull?
Why not just use cap guns? Spin the chamber, and go deaf in the ear!

That's in such astonishingly bad taste, it's hard to get really offended.

Just a little correction for your post:
The packaging is written in JAPANESE. It is a product found at most toy stores in JAPAN.
This seems a tad dangerous. Can a ballon really stop the bullet?
"Clever" must be the new way of saying "psychologically frightening."
I seem to recall this device used on "Ayaka's Surprise English Lesson" episodes numerous times, 5 years ago minimum. In Japan.
This doesn't seem like a very good idea. Maybe if the balloon had a picture of Jon-Erik Hexum, I would feel better.
Ablestmage - Arr, you beat me to it.
I love Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons, cracks me up every time.
I can see this being a whole lot more fun with waterballoons.
And it also gives me an idea for a condom-preprocessing device, for people who aren't sure they want magically-appearing kids or not...
In Soviet Russia, balloons pop YOU!
Reminds me of the Bob and Doug McKenzie game "Beer Hunter"
ablestmage, jungletek-- see post #9.
I saw one of these for sale in Japan when I lived there, sometime between 1986 and 88.
