Funny flame war video

Collegehumorrrrrrvid Photoshoppp
College Humor made a hillarious (NSFW) music video about the deterioration of comment threads, to the tune of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire." As a wise man once said, "It's funny cause it's true." We Didn't Start The Flame War (Thanks, Vann Hall!)

Thankfully, The Boss did not sing or write "We Didn't Start The Fire". That was Billy Joel.

Billy Joel is also known as "The Boss"?

Errrrr ... Billy Joel.

(ashamed I know this)

Take a look at this

Billy Joel is not the Boss of me.

I actually like how youtube threads are totally obscene, crazy and indecent. They're like cyber-bathroom stall graffiti in a really crusty bar, or how graffiti in NYC subway ads is totally obscene but sometimes pretty inventive and funny.

There was a Bloom County cartoon years ago making fun of people mixing up The Piano Man and The Boss as I recall.

Will no one correct the original posting?

Billy Joel is known as "The Piano Man", not "The Boss"...

Meet the new The Boss, same as the old The Boss

hopefully they wrote 'the Boss' on purpose to start a flame war in this comments section? it would be pretty meta.

As I logged in to comment that Billy Joel is not The Boss, I realized that about 17 people ahead of me would have already done the same.
C'mon, Pesco, come back and fix it. PLEASE!!???

Now I'll go watch the video.

It was cute. I chuckled.

Take a look at this

Cute? It was a biopic.

I got pwned. I guess Pesco doesn't read the mod pol thread...

I got pwned.

Hey, I linked it in the BB internal chatroom and it didn't get picked up, so don't feel bad.

I had thought that "The Boss" was a Hot Wheels toy car, a custom Mustang, IIRC.

Take a look at this

I'd really like to know how this was made. Like what software was used and such.

Take a look at this

well, it's not like i really expect people to load the mod pol thread without a compelling reason... :(

i'll have my revenge, and stay ontopic at the same time...

Do not be ashamed that you know that Billy Joel is not 'The Boss'.
Billy Joel is not, has never been, nor will ever wish to be known as 'The Boss'.
Billy Joel doesn't like bosses. He used to work in a factory, and as a landscaper, and in a service station, and as a house painter as well as many other lousy jobs where he had to answer to a 'boss'. That's why he's been working as a self-employed musician for most of his life.
And even though a lot of other people are hired by him when he works - not one of them refers to him as 'The Boss'. He just isn't the 'Boss' type. He is -as he likes to say - just a lucky bastard who plays the piano.

I do read the Mod thread, so don't even think about making fun of me over there. I was just... behind. : )

Thank you so much, ANONYMOUS. We really wanted to know more about Billy Joel. That was what this whole thread was supposed to be about... um... wait, no it wasn't.

well, i only read it when desperate for amusement. you agree, i hope, that a link to this awesome video belongs there, as a warning; complain if you must, but without mods you get this...

Play me a song Anonymous,
A song about jobs and the Boss:
And I'll keep spinning a thread, that's out of control,
And that doesn't see the topic is lost
la la la la la la-la
la la la la la-la...

You there !
Stop trying to write lyrics!.....Immediately!
You have absolutely no sense of cadence.
You have no concept of syllabic pentameter.
What you wrote even hurts my eyes.
Stop!........ Before someone gets hurt.
And then it's not fun and games anymore.

You could have called him:

* The Piano Man
* The former Mr. Christie Brinkley
* That guy who needs a shave

I'm a little surprised that with all the comments on Billy Joel definitely not being any kind of boss, no one has noticed "hillarious".

Wait, so where does anything say anything about "The Boss"? Outside of this comment thread, I mean.

i liked this video, even though it pointedly underlines just how homophobic speech is on the internet, and it's apparently just fine. and i'm saying that as a gay person.

it's all well and good to laugh at this but that's what they did back at Nuremberg in the '30s, and we all know how well that ended.

The thing that really gets me about this is:

Consider what this video would look like if you could jump back in time and show it to a human being 20 (or even 10) years ago. What would it look like to that person? Could they even understand it?

(Then try to imagine today what an 'internet video' from 20 years in the future will look like.)
