The Thurm Glupston Show
An appreciation website is here. Snip from the show description:
This Thurm Glupston Show was recorded and cablecast live on Cablevision (of Greater Johnstown, Pennsylvania) Community Television (CCTV) in 1988. In this episode, Thurm Glupston interviews We'll Save You Man (in a surprise appearance); Woody B. Green, a man who can turn into a plant; Kitty Cologne, a cosmetologist/astrologist; and Russ Fink, a professional talk show filler. Fake commercials include: We'll Save You Supermarkets, Powerflex Bodybuilding Shampoo, and Memorial Clearinghouse Sweepstakes. As with so many of the really good public access cable video clips I've blogged before, this find comes from the legendary curator of mutant talent, John Andrew Walsh.

Ok can we have a version where those horrid cottage cheese manhocks are blurred out? I had to close it in fear of a nutbag shot which totally would have wasted the fine steak I had for lunch. For the love of G$D!!

gee, thanks Antinous...
"At the finale of the show, Prill had honey poured all over her, in what seemed to be a literal interpretation of the lyrics to what she believed would be her breakthrough song, "Oh, You Sexpot Honey." [1] Prill wanted to do the finale nude, but the performing arts center required her to wear a body stocking. Brinson M. Harris, a remote producer for the event said, "A backup singer walked out from backstage to say good night and to apologize to the audience.".[1]
Prill's honey-pouring event was videotaped for public-access television but the tape has gone missing."
A friend of a friend recently got a bootleg satelite dish, and was going on about all the weird public-access programs he could get from all over the world.
That said, often the weirdest stuff is right in your own backyard. Case in point:

As a person who was born in Johnstown, PA, I feel that is my obligation to share some clips of the media experience of Cablevision Channel 9 which was offered in this fine city.
Us Guyz, was interesting (at the time at least), it tried to push the boundaries in conservative working class Johnstown.

Additionally, here is video of the announcements/calender page for Channel 9. I think that they had been using the same Video Toaster for the text for long as I could remember.

The true masterpiece of the this channel, was a show called the "The Chimes", which was a religious show that featured tone-deaf singers, and scratchy,deep-voiced, and monotone preacher. They use to tour the city in a large van that says the "The Chimes". ... Ah..memories :(
