Portable LCD projector that looks like an 8mm film camera

Brando's latest dubious-but-promising gadget is a cigarette-pack-sized, battery powered LCD projector shaped like a retro 8mm film projector camera. No idea if the image quality or light intensity are any good, but the concept's lovely. I don't know that I'd risk $219 on it, though.

Wow. They know how to market to a sucker like me, don't they?

Beautiful!

Another idea: how about a pencil sharpener that looks like this?

At $219 and using only a 3W LED as the light source, it's clearly just aimed at the 'toy' market. It's not a home theater projector but rather one to allow the sharing of small video clips and stuff. It's tiny; 6" along its longest edge.

All consumer electronics should follow this aesthetic.

Neat product and a nice price point, but 640x480? Move it up to 1280x1024 and we'll talk.

What's with the constant hate, or at best, backhanded praise, of Brando stuff? Was this explained in some previous post I missed? I mean, unlike the helpful post above that pointed out its low candlepower, the OP seemed to have arbitrarily crammed a bunch of FUD into an otherwise admiring post. Confusing.

@5 ernunnos :

Clearly, consumer electronics used to. More to the point, I don't want retro (retro is overdone and tends to be lazy) what I want is good new design.

it's gorgeous. I hope that someone makes a higher-powered one with a similar design. Additionally, if that happens I hope that their product description is reviewed for grammatical errors. Lines like "It's Size just like an Mobile Phone" make me a little nervous about paying over $200 for it.

$219, and it's mounted on a $3 tripod. I see those things at Microcenter all the time.
