Etsy seller Alexxxcastaneda makes skateboard decks with nudes painted in oil on them. Lovely work.

Speaking of painted nudes, do people realize that Google is branding totally unobjectionable art-history blogs that feature nudes with "content warnings"? Read about it here:

I think the "after" image, once the board has been grinding and sliding around a city for a year or so, would be pretty cool too.

HALLOWEEN JACK - they cost $400 and use actual oil paint - as far as I know they're not protected or sealed with anything. They're decorative.

But yeah, still a shame.

I'd feel kinda weird about planting my feet on that--well, any painting, really, but especially a nude--a little too "Moloko Vellocet" for me.

Bit naive? I find it difficult to believe that most, or even half, the female nudes in history were done out of genuine concern for gender equality.

I dunno about this sort of thing.

It seems to have missed the whole point of skateboard art.

The painting is grand and fine and all that , but it seems to have missed a fundamental aspect of Skate art.

the skating...

apropos of nuthin.

Always wanted a 5mm skin of nylon bonded to my decks for a friction free slide.

I doubt if ANY female nudes in art history were done out of a concern for gender equality. My point was simply that they weren't for the most part done to degrade women.

When I first read this blog entry title, I thought the "on skateboard decks" meant the nudes were *riding* skateboards.
