Darth Vader money

DeviantArt's Diablo2003 whipped up these Vaderbucks for Star Wars Fan Days 2007, where he was an artist guest. Thomas, who suggested the link, says he thinks they're cooler-looking than greenbacks and I agree -- best note since the hyperinflationary 100 billion Dinar note with Tesla on it.

Just like the Empire to put their crappiest hardware on the money.
Do I have to do a lame James Earl Jones impression when I buy my lotto tickets with this?
The First Galactic Empire? That doesn't make sense. It would refer to itself as "The Galactic Empire," presuming that it would exist forever. Subsequent 'Galactic Empires' might refer to the original as "The First Galactic Empire," but then they would not put that on their money, it would say "The Second Galactic Empire," or whatever generation it was.
I'm just saying.
In the parlance of my youth: "bitchin'!"
Lanval
Oooh... I want to print these out to use in teaching my brother to gamble.
Can someone print these out on cotton/paper or someone know where I can buy the cotton/paper.
And will anyone accept this as currency anywhere? comicbook stores?
They are so beautiful! (sniff) Though I find it hard to believe that an image-sensitive Empire would commemorate a partially-completed Death Star. I sure would like to spend some of these on Coruscant...
Actually, I believe the correct term is "Credits", not "Vaderbucks" or "Starbucks"
The way the dollar is going, you might as well stock up on these.
At our in-house coffee house Javva the Hutt (really) ILM employees have faux money they can redeem for coffee drinks -- often with Vader printed on them:

According to the logic of the artist, "Darth Vader was used on the 1 credit bill for the same reason the most famous American, George Washington, was used on the one dollar bill. It's the first standard credit the Empire uses to measure it's rate to other currency so I used the most recognizable figure from Star Wars."
OK, but Darth Vader was not a founding father father of the empire nor the most famous. In Canada we have Queen Elizabeth II on our 1 dollar coin. So, it seems to me that the one credit bill of the Galactic empire would be the emperor. Vader was more of a priest, the antithesis of the Jedi.
I sense something. A presence on the money supply system I have not felt since...
Why does the writing look like Hebrew?
Ok, I have to say this ... paper doesn't exist in the Star Wars universe, there's never any use, or mention to something made on paper, so money made on paper could not exist :D. Else this is exellent :)

Y'know, to me, it wouldn't make sense that the 'First Galactic Empire' would use arabic numberals.
I mean... How about a hexadecimal or octal numbering system, with numerals that are non-arabic, y'know? Like, they've got hyperspace drives and ships that are able to mmake noise in space and everything!
So I as was chasing down some links and I came across this:

The numerals used in Galactic Basic might not be Arabic but rather something else. Some speculation (I've lost the link..) is that the Aurebesh font is stylized upside-down Hebrew. (Aurebesh is the font you see used all over the ships, and walls, and cleaning droids, and..)
More here:

and on the 'Galactic Basic' language here:

Oh yeah, and a half-finished Death Star? Give me a break!
Everybody cool out.
These are clearly Death Star Dollars, redeemable at the Level 3 canteen for Bantha Balm (TM) pain rub, Billy's First Blaster model kits (send them to your favourite clone!), Helmet Brand condoms (they'll keep your head protected!), and all other manner of Imperial tchotchke that might strike your fancy.
Our younger son was probably 5 when we took a drive to see a big, beautiful new convention center. We parked, and as we approached the building we walked past Clingons, Imperial soldiers, Darth Vader and others in Star Wars costumes. We had no idea there was an SW convention. What I wouldn't give to have read the boy's mind!
Now he's 18, and just bought tickets for the ComicCon. Time to pull the special tee shirt out of moth balls. "Sith Kicks Jedi Ass" on the front, and "Its about Vader. It was always about Vader." on the back. Always gets some strong reactions. d8^)
yeah, intergalactic PAPER MONEY?
Maybe this was Death Star scrip used only on the station.
Anybody have any tips on printing these double-sided? Is there a "counterfeit" setting in the print options of certain applications?
Great. Soon my change jar will be filled with more of those sand people pennies and droid nickles. Probably won't be able to turn them in at Coinstar either.
Hi all,
I take this occasion to share with you my MoneyArt.
I created Notes inspired by the Wall Street Financial crisis... Greed bills :-) Nothing to do with Star Wars but original collectors "money" as well.
Check it out !

@nr3:
Actually, "The FIRST galactical empire" is the literal quote that emperor Palpatine used when he proclaimed himself dictator in front of the soon-to-be-fired senate, so that would be what the empire was officialy called.
I'm not really such a nerd, but Revenge of the sith was playing on my local cable channel while I was reading this post. Some coincidense!
Cheney loves them, feeling appreciated finally.

Perhaps the universe is a big place and this is the first galaxy to get organized in such a matter.
By the way, whats the exchange rate, and is the currency a float or based off a standard.
I currently own a genuine "One Hundred Trillion Dollar" currency note from Zimbabwe.
