Roq La Rue Gallery's Kirsten Anderson and Kenny Montana interviewed painter-of-robots Brian Despain about his passion for our mechanical friends. The painting above, titled "The Exchange," is available as a very limited edition print from Roq La Rue.

These paintings would make wonderful illustrations for a children's book. Not to say that there is anything immature about the work, just that I'd love to see artwork of this caliber in a children's story so that I could own a little bit of it myself.

Wow. Brian and I went to high school together. I was always enamored of his illustrative style, but Mr. Jacobsen (the old-skool art teacher) often thought it was "too cartoony." Shows what you know Mr. Art Teacher man! - Zac Johnson
