This might keep me up. Can we have an explanation other than "Japanese wackiness" please? Why does the fruit have organs? Why?

I've always had this very visceral reaction to sliced tomatoes, especially fried ones. To me the inside of a tomato already resembles the inside of some alien creature. I like the taste of tomatoes, but I can't stand to look at them while I eat them.

There's no head, it's just organs... I imagine the vine itself is the sentient part. Perhaps the brain is in the root system?

Or perhaps the artist is depicting a still-embryonic killer tomato.

wow. this is nice. My wife was taking a dietary therapy class, as part of her masters for acupuncture and Eastern medicine. Always explaining (and me half listening) how certain food items are related to certain parts of the body. altho she claims that they discussed tomato being good for the heart, as it's shaped like one? I'm thinking she meant the inside of the tomato. Heh!
