it's a shame she'll be dead by the end of the episode.

To boldly go where maybe not that many have gone before, I think.

@1,

No, but you can make your own from latex and be the most uncomfortable nerd at the convention.

Take a look at this

Oh my good giddy God, what a woman. What. A. Woman.

Take a look at this

What convention is SHE gonna be at? Hubba hubba!

"The boning used is European Steel..."

I beg to differ.

Fantastic nuggage in the luggage there. No wonder she's smiling.

HOLY MACKEREL! There are some happy nerds in the world today.

The nice thing about this corset is that besides the Pin, the corset can stand alone without being a Star Trek clothing. While the pattern is inspired by the ensign clothing design, you don't have to use it for Star Trek themed events. Especially since the Pin isn't included with the corset.

The Pin seems to act like Clark Kent glasses. Pin on: Corseted Trekie woman. Pin off: Corseted woman.

I think I just beamed in my pants.

i thought the ensign in red never survived the show.

Set phasers on stunning.

Why couldn't they have come out with this thing back when Marina Sirtis was still in her thirties?

Take a look at this

I like the one on the left...

Great garment.
I take this opportunity to post this link to a Star Trek/ Monty Python mash-up which some may find amusing:

I know that I did. Thanx to the DVD Savant for the heads-up.

@BarelyFitz:

They're the same... One's just from the back..

(Or were you making some statement that went right over my head?)

I'm pretty sure that Troi had one of those hanging in her closet.

OMFG why didn't you find this in time for Valentines day? Why? :-(

Scotty - you've just earned your pay for the week!

Ivan, there are two significant differences between the picture on the right and the one on the left. Can you guess what they are?

Also, great comments! :D

For those of you thinking of purchasing it - do take note that there is no busk. This means that you will have to lace it from scratch every time you want to wear it, which is a pain in the ass.

I think not having a busk was the correct choice for this corset, since a busk would ruin the look. However, it does make it harder to wear.

Take a look at this

But does it's nature as a corset prevent one from pulling off the Picard Maneuver?

Take a look at this

Kudos to AMPHIGOREY for pointing out there's no busk, a big problem of both convenience and of structure.

Another gaffe here is that this "corset" laces from top to bottom.

A real corset laces to the middle so you can cinch the waist as you tighten.

Take a look at this

Seems to actually provide incentive to use the Kirk jerk.

ZOMG! My nerd fantasies have been (almost) fulfilled. Now if that woman would just put on a gold Leia bikini, I could die happy.

And where were these gorgeously stacked nerdettes when I was younger? The librarian helpers didn't look like that!

Take a look at this

Ruth666: it may not be a corset but it may serve as a corset.

Take a look at this

perhaps "truss" is a better word for this.

Take a look at this

Ruth666: Actually looks like the corset can be laced however you like. Doesn't stop it from being a corset. Seems to be pushing things up in the right place :)

Take a look at this

What? No busk? Forget it!

Take a look at this

Both as a lover of Trek and a lover of redheads, I am in awe.

Take a look at this

You can take out the laces and re-do to end in the center, provided the lace is long enough, which it usually isn't when it's presented like this.

Take a look at this

quite a portfolio she has on Etsy, the custom fantasy market must be huge if the price is reasonable.

Quote from Down Periscope... "Lt. Lake, you're almost out of uniform." I think this applies nicely.

Take a look at this

Well Tak if a fantasy isn't custom, I'll have nothing to do with it.

That is so awesome! Now all that's left is to find a girl to privately model that for me:)

not an economist?

Take a look at this

Not for money, Tak.
But those mass fantasies are just so...common.

Take a look at this

You can't truss it! (PE fans in the house?)

what WOULD a bOINGbOING orgy look like?

STEAMPUNK!

Ouch!

tak, that would be a FREEEEKY weekend.

How much splooge is this picture of a Star Trek corset generating tonight?

Take a look at this

You know how the star ship crew taps their com-badges when they want to hail the Enterprise? I would love to see her do that in this outfit.

Take a look at this

Keep in mind that the average Trekkie waist is 54". Corsetry loses some of its luster when squeezing the middle just leads to acres of flesh oozing out of the ends.

Take a look at this

$200!? New stuff costs weird!

But mmmm.... nothing sexier than a woman who can't breathe properly...

Take a look at this

Now I figured out why the front is asymmetrical, symmetry gets boring.

Take a look at this

$200 is on the low end for a custom corset. They are fairly labor-intensive, and if you are doing any kind of pattern adjustment, that adds significantly to the time spent building the corset.

Just to give you some perspective, top corsetiers (like San Francisco's Dark Garden, possibly the best in the world) charge about $800 for a custom corset. They are worth it; they give amazing shape, and they are very comfortable.

Take a look at this

So, is that to say you think I should by the more comfortable one when I get rich?

Take a look at this

It's not like I don't have falsies.

Take a look at this

I can understand people 'reading' no further than the images, but the text does say a busk can be added for those who prefer, and it can be relaced at the point of manufacture (i.e. longer laces can be provided).

Take a look at this

Optional busk eh? OK. I'm listening.

Take a look at this

but the text does say

There was text?

Hello, Nurse Chapel! Can we get some kind of cold-shower chaser? Hold the unicorn, because that'll just keep me hot and bothered too.

Engage docking clamps!

Take a look at this

@14- Well put, sir, well put.

@46- "Please, miss, don't trouble yourself. Allow me..."

Dark Garden! Fabulous shop; cannot afford. It seems their costs have gone up, they used to be less. The folks at Stormy Leather gave me high marks on my cinching technique, but they're mostly prêt-à-porter.

I think the reading thing is somewhat dependent on gender identity. Wait, I'm into the boobies and also read past...

Crap-tastic argument, Alpin, now I don't know what I am!

Shit, I'm over 30, that's prolly it. How depressing. Oh well, back to the fapping. Wait, was that out-loud?

Too bad it's not an underbust... or else I would have bought it already. :(
