NASA's got a nice little repository of remixable video for your home mashup pleasure:

International Space Station Expedition 12 Commander Bill McArthur and Flight Engineer Valery Tokarev discuss and demonstrate spacesuits. You can mix and mash these video clips with NASA images and your own narration, original video, special effects and transitions. Preview the video and download the clips you want to use in your creative masterpiece.

Video clips are available on this page for preview and download in a variety of formats. Flash versions are closed-captioned, and downloadable compressed ZIP files contain separate video clips and timed-text transcript files for both PC and Mac. I read that headline as "NSA's video mashup repository".

The reality is probably cooler, and certainly a lot less scary.

somewhat related, this is a 'live audio simulcast' we put together 5years ago when the Mars Rovers landed.
