If you ever followed the Grateful Dead, such bus customized extensions were a common sight on tour, albeit with a better paint job. I've seen full sized school buses with huge camper-van chassis welded on, and yet somehow still street legal. Yes, this was without mind alteration.

As with Phikus, I was about to point out how some of the bus mods on the west-coast dead tour put this bus to shame.

I specifically remember one long green one, with two westy's welded on top, and a huge wood shingled shed built onto the back. I also remember the shed having a fully-working wood-stove.

Ok, now commence the bashing.

This was parked in my neighborhood last night. I thought it was remarkably well done, most of the ones I see in my hood are considerably less polished. Who ever put it together really did a nice job with the top portion. It looked really professional.

In the '90s I lived in a bus with a full kitchen & bedroom and a Jotul woodstove. Never been to a Dead gig, tho. Been to some Spiral Tribe raves.

Chumprock@5: I saw that bus at the NYE shows 86-87 at the Kaiser. This was the one I was attempting to describe, because it was the biggest custom behemoth I have ever seen, still to this day. You described it better than I. A deep emerald green. You are right, it was two campers on top, not just one. I remember the porch and stove in the back. It was a sight to behold. Anybody else out there snapped a pic of it you can post?

Their music may not be your cup of tea, but you've got to give it up to the Deadheads in their ability to custom mod a bus. =D

Thanks for all the comments.I am the one who is building this..It is still under the construction, and I need someone who can help me on Vegi oil conversion, and who has some warehouse space(with 220v for compressor hook up or equipped with one already) and scaffolding for paint job...
If you have crane or folklift for installing handrail in the back patio, and uninstalling the solar panel rack for painting the roof ,please let me know as well.
