Biology lecture "gig posters"
The UNC Chapel Hill Biology Department creates sharp "concert posters" for their distinguished lecture series. Each poster is 9" x 22" and hand screenprinted by The Merch, a Chapel Hill design group "influenced by skateboard culture, underground music, and contemporary design." Great idea, UNC!Gigpsforscis' Flickr photostream (via easternblot)

"Signaling Pathways in Early Mouse Development" sounds like a Stereolab album to me.
Interestingly retro.
Are lectures really distinguished? Or are lecturers?
oooh! do one this style!

Gorgeous stuff... such cool work out of UNC! The Counter-Cartographies Collective comes to mind...
This is great!
Ooooh magnificent! That is, for better or worse, my approach to newspaper ad design - which is regarded by the general public as somewhere near the bottom of the barrel of visual stimulae. I often get shot down by small-town advertisers who'd rather see their Word97 masterpiece in print, but when I win, I win.
Any chance of picking some of these up someplace? I checked The Merch site but could not find any way to purchase.
That's pretty awesome. I really like the look of these.
We've been doing this in architectural academia for a long, long time.
It's sort of a point of pride to have a good lecture series poster - and there are even "competitions."
