Yes We (Can), the Warhol-inspired parody t-shirt

Karl Long says,
I also recently licensed a really clever t-shirt design from an Etsy seller who could not keep up with production.

Also, an update from The Prez Dispenser design that you originally wrote about. Unfortunately the licensing company responsible for Pez licences sent us a cease and desist, and even though they expressed and interest in entering a proper licence agreement with me, have now finally killed it. Very unfortunate as it was a very popular design, and of course could be argued as fair use, but that's the way it goes.

That's one of the sweeter "Yes We Can" designs that I've been seeing over the last two months. As a Pittsburgher, however, I'm partial to the Shepard Fairy homage featuring Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin. I'm reluctant to include a direct link, but a google search only turns up some news articles and some conservative message boards complaining that they hate seeing their Steelers coach being associated with Obama through the artwork. That said, here's the site where you can see the shirt: http://compressmerch.com/

Please don't think I'm spamming, I'm just a Steelers fan!

Strikingly similar to an image I created and posted to my blog back in March, "http://www.ee0r.com/blog/2008030301.html". I'm not saying I was plagiarized, I'm just saying.

The pez dispenser really is unfortunate, as this really is a case of more successful legal bullying rather than legal foundation. The only problem is the use of "prez" which might (well probably) be argued that it was diluting the PEZ trademark. Ufortunately, it would take $500K to prove them wrong.

Great t-shirt, and it's nice to support an independent t-shirt guy like Karl.
