Atari 400 converted into music synth

Over at Boing Boing Gadgets, Brownlee has the details on this Atari 400 stuffed with a DIY analog music synthesizer. I like how none of the knobs is labeled. "Atari 400 goes analog synth"

If the unit was no longer functioning or in use, how is reusing a plastic case wasteful? Better than sitting collecting dust on a forgotten shelf. It's a project case waiting to happen.

The end result isn't particularly attractive, but it scores some nostalgia points for anyone who used one of these units before.

I think 'converted' is stretching it, 'Atari 400 shell used as novelty synth case' is more like it.
