I would think it gives 1UP to the person who hits them, not the wearer.

True, but if they hit you hard enough, your skull will absorb the 1-up.

But I think this is a good direction. Bicycle helmet dorkiness should be exploited. I wear one on my curvey handled thin-tired road bike, but I do NOT wear one on my manly, awesome, sittin' directly upright beach cruiser. Maybe if it had an afro cover...

The idea of a bicycle helmet is that it should slide across the asphalt with a smooth surface in case of an accident (being hit by a car, etc). Putting a cover like this on you helmet would take away that function. I would hate to break my neck because of a joke like this.

For some reason, when I see a helmet cover the phrase "and she is your LEEEAD JAMMMMER!!!"runs through my head.

Wouldn't this make drivers more likely to hit cyclists?

As suggested in comment #1, this arrangement appears to grant the extra life to the driver, not the cyclist.

Cute, but poorly conceived.

Holy snap. This is awesome.

Amusing, but if I put this on my motorcycle helmet, drivers may go out of their way to test out the 1up factor.
