Great find, SFSLIM @1! I actually think Target has some great clothes at affordable prices. I recently nabbed a nice pinstripe 3-button suit there for less than $100.
Then again, I should probably note that, in order to sell such an ensemble for only $20, the Target version is likely woven from children's tears and shredded international labor treaties.
I'm sure the Psycho Baby one is much higher quality than the Target version. My wife gifted me a Psycho Baby scarf a couple years ago and it has held up beautifully. But yeah, I keep thinking of my late father's stance on neckwear. He had to wear a tie to work but insisted on buying his from the $5 final discount bin at the men's store. (This was some years ago, but still.) That way, when he eventually dripped something on the tie, he wouldn't feel bad about ruining something expensive. My dad's $5 ties weren't high fashion, but they definitely were "good enough."
I like the idea but the price is a bit high for me. Under half the cost (in some cases) and without tossing your money into a corp-giant like Target, I would suggest the good folks at Cyberoptix TieLab ( http://cyberoptix.com/ )
My girlfriend has picked up 3 of their ties for me over holidays and birthdays and the quality is great. A fave of mine is Escape Artist which has an actual skeleton key on it. By luck the old key had the same number as of my age for the birthday gift.
Alternately, you could simply buy this white Keenan Dufty shirt from Target for $20, and get a nearly identical tie thrown in for free.

This would have been really funny about 30 years ago.
Psychobunny has been making this design for a long time, it really sucks that they got ripped off so blatantly.
@Pescovitz
Thanks!

I dig their Space Invaders tie. I wonder if they got permission from Taito to use the characters.
the pins are upside down.
This is a wonderful thing. I don't wear ties any more, but if I did I'd be sure to get one like this.
Only one thing, though...there doesn't appear to be anything particularly steampunk about it.
exit, pelted by rotten vegetables and pursued by a bear
On the other hand, asking that much for such an inexpensive tie is kind of asking for it.
Selling it for $50 would still probably be a 300% profit margin.
"exit, pelted by rotten vegetables and pursued by a bear"
Xoph', if you were being pursued by a bear, you wouldn't be running :)
You just can't beat assumptions of personal preference for the sake of a cheap joke.
No, but you can beat the person who makes them!
grabs Arkizzle's agonizer from his* belt, agonizes him*
And let that be a lesson to ya!

Wow, these Cyberoptix ties are really cool. Thanks, DEVICO @14!
I'm a huge fan of safety pins, I put them on everything! That tie would go great with some of my jackets! I should try putting safety pins on ties...

Glad you enjoyed them David. Their newest addition of wooden gift boxes is pretty nifty as well.
Smexy, you beat me to it: inspired by this, I'm gonna do up one of my black ties with actual safety pins.
