Extraordinary sculptor Jessica Joslin will premiere her new work at Billy Shire Fine Arts in Los Angeles this Saturday.

Show here: Gustav. 19"x9"x16". Antique brass findings and hardware, bone, velvet, satin, embroidered glove leather, antique steel tricycle, glass eyes. $7500.

Very nice stuff, though I have to admit I saw the preview link a few days ago and, without reading the accompanying copy, assumed it was Liz McGrath.

Yeah, she's very similar to McGrath, but in a more 'steam-punky' kind of way. Been following both artists for a while and look forward to this show!

love it! liz vs. jessica would be my dream show!!

i suppose they are similar in that they are both highly detailed, masterfully crafted sculptures of animals w/character and personality out the wazoo, but to me that is where the similarity ends. they have very unique and distinctive styles all their own.

i first saw jessica's work at a gallery in chicago in 2002 and was so stoked to see her creatures last night at billy shire. they are amazing-i highly recommend checking them out!!
