CAPTCHA Poetry
Heather Moore, the talented proprietor and blogger of Skinny Laminx, recently wrote a couple of CAPTCHA security code poems that speak to the wordsmith inside me. The comments about them are pretty interesting and creative as well. Here’s one of Heather’s poems:
Aingee--Shawn

Reminds me of these nifty CAPTCHA t-shirts I keep meaning to get.
Modern Dadaism anyone?
I have been making capcha poetry except not smithing words, but just writing re-Captcha poetry by putting two words per line.

is there a test that computers can use to make sure they aren't talking to a human?
Hitting the chords of language processing in a nonsense, yet stimulating way has always been fun for me! This is a great post! It made my day.
I got this great political insight from Ticketmaster:

Brillig!
I'd just like to say Endenhausen 1912, and furthermore Ghind ROOSEMONDE.
I'm sure one could qualify this as experimental, but I'm gonna say it's not poetry.
I've discovered something similar. It's called UTF-16 poetry. The method is as follows:
1. Go to an English website
2. Switch the Character Encoding to UTF-16
3. Copy some of the resulting Chineese gibberish and run it through a translate engine (Google Translate or Altavista)
4. Arrange the results into poetry.
Some results to get you started can be seen at http://utf16poetry.wordpress.com/
I do believe you've summoned Cthulhu.
Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits
On a lurgid bee
Thank you #14! As I read this post, the first thing I thought of was also "lurgid bee".
When I find myself with awful poets
One thing comes to rescue me
Humming lines of gibb'rish
Lurgid Bee! Lurgid Bee!
And when they keep on reading verses
Chanting 'til my ears implode
Silently I'm singing,
Lurgid Bee! Lurgid Bee!
Lurgid Bee! Lurgid Bee!
Lurgid Bee! Lurgid Bee!
'Til I'm all gruntbuggly
Lurgid Bee! Lurgid Bee!
