The Giger bar resembles creations of František Rint at the ossuary in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic; an excellent treatment is in the film by Jan Švankmajer.

Nice, I've actually been to this bar in Gruyere, across from the Giger Museum! I hear there's one in Japan as well?

This place being mostly filled with tourists, the brightly coloured foreigners I saw in the bar cashed considerably with the mood set by the decor. If this were a goth bar in some bustling metropolis downtown, it might have had more impact ;)
