Betamaxmas: a nostalgia YouTube tour through xmas specials of yesteryear

Tavie sez, "This site, designed to look like an old rabbit-ears set playing old Betamax tapes, shows clip after Youtube clip of Christmas specials, commercials and holiday-themed episodes of television shows, all circa 20-25 years ago. Adjust the rabbit ears to get that perfect "grainy" look. I am a sucker for this sort of nostalgia. I have been entertained for hours upon hours. "

Both wonderful (the interface) and lame (much of the content).
The fact that you have to wait for stuff to turn up is a return to pre-VCR days. For a few minutes I was able to start a Pee-Wee's Playhouse special, but then it was gone.
The Family Channel has a "25 Days of Christmas" schedule this time of year. It has been pretty restrained the last few years -- mostly classic Rankin-Bass toons -- but until about five years ago they showed, nonstop, a HUGE variety of Christmas stuff, some of which I vaguely recalled from when it first ran in the 70s and 80s.
Daria had the only good cartoon holiday special.
What? No yule log?

It's PERFECT.
These days, I don't watch much TV, in fact I don't even own one. But this is like meta-TV. It's like the feeling of TV in childhood days, canned. I'm surprised there are not many more comments on this post.
Happy XMas to you Cory!
The ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas schedule this year is lame, lame, lame. Cars, the first four Harry Potter movies, The Incredibles, Narnia? Did I mention it's lame?
