There is currently a lovely homage to all things pulp-fic Sci-Fi, including buttons and images as these, at the domestic terminal of SFO. Go check it out and delight!
Specifically: Terminal 3, on the concourse leading to gates 80-90.
I saw it on arrival on Thanksgiving morning. The bubblegum cards decorating the back of the cases must have been reprinted for a Canadian distributor in the late 60s, because I remember seeing them when on vacation up thar.
Just sent the link to some friends.
I'm not sure what the best use for these would be. There aren't enough in the set for a whole shirt, for example.
Maybe a vest?
Or two sets of the 18mm size down the front, and a set of the smaller size for cuffs / collar / pockets?
The shirt itself would, of course, be a dark metallic gray with padded, ribbed shoulders and silver comets on the upper sleeves.
The URL for this page says "Science Fiction Butt".
I approve.
The button on the top left features the "XZ-38 Disintegrator Pistol", a must for any Buck Rogers or Foo Fighters fans...
Looks like the handywork of Montreal artist Glen Lemesurier: http://www.flickr.com/photos/j0rune/389608902/in/photostream/
or at least pretty similar. These are bicycle bells.
Not to beat a dead horse, but these actually do seem a little atompunk.
