Beethoven + Peanuts = awesome.

My strongest association with that particular piece is waking up Sunday mornings, as "Adventures in Good Music" played on the clock radio.

From the first Peanuts feature length film, A Boy Named Charlie Brown. Piano by Ingolf Dahl, who died the following year.

Man. Feivel's theme from An American Tale is so ripping off the main melody of this song. Beethoven should sue.

To whomever did this, a deep hearted thank you. I've literally had this segment in my mind for the past week, but could barely remember the imagery. I remember seeing this for the first time way back in 1971 ("A Boy Named Charlie Brown" was released theatrically in 1969), and even as a lad of 8, I thought that there was something beautiful about that segment.
With all of the news we've had the last couple of days, the attacks in Mumbai, the teetering economy, America in transition, lots of uncertainty, it is simply wonderful that there are still beautiful and indeed wonderful things out there (that's part of BB's credo, yes?).
David, thank you for posting this.

Aw yeah. A Boy Named Charlie Brown is just full of wonderful sequences like this. Snoopy's WWI dogfight is probably my favorite of the bunch.
