Nifty iPhone app: ComicZeal lets you read Golden Age comic books
This $1.99 iPhone app lets you download and read Golden Age comics.
ComicZeal's built-in downloader lets you browse our great collection of copyright-free Golden Age comics and download them straight to your iPhone or iPod Touch.The library isn't huge, but I imagine it will grow over time.All the comics are free and you can download as many as you want.
ComicZeal works in portrait and landscape mode to suit the orientation of the page or panel you're reading.
It remembers what page you were up to for each comic in your collection and will take you straight there next time you read it.
Because ComicZeal uses pinch-zoom and fingertip scrolling you can move around the page really quickly and zoom in to detail when you need to.

The app also lets you text in orders for X-Ray Specs, cardboard submarines, and pet monkeys.
It also allows you to read your already-existing .cbr and .cbz files. You need a little converter program, but the fact that it uses its own optimized format saves you storage space and battery life.

I wish it were not wifi dependant on the content. I only use my phone on public wifi, on occasion, don't keep wifi at home

There's also a great comic reader for jailbroken iPhones & iPod Touches called iComic (see http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23759 for more details). An appstore port is currently under beta testing and is expected to be released soon.
I bought this App on Friday, and all I've done i read comics all weekend.
