Bob Logan reports that iTunes is selling great Disney old music. A commentor writes:
Randy Thornton (Disney Music Restoration Hero) has gotten a lot of great, classic stuff up on iTunes, including The (original) Mickey Mouse Club soundtrack (and the music from its serials!), Thrilling Chilling Sounds of the Haunted House, Babes In Toyland, Ludwig Von Drake, the never-before-released-anywhere 20,000 Leagues soundtrack and much, much more. Check it out (unfortunately, it takes some searching: It seems iTunes doesn't have them grouped in any logical way).
Classic Disney on iTunes!
I wish they had Disney Little Long-Playing Records
"You will know it is time to turn the page when Tinkerbell rings her little bell like this [ring ring]...let's begin now..."
I distinctly remember having SOME kind of record with music & songs from 20,000 Leagues under the Sea... perhaps not a full "soundtrack" but I know I had something fitting the bill.
Ricky Brigante of the excellent Disney podcast "Inside the Magic" has started a site called Parktunes, that organizes lots of Disney theme park-related music and has it available to sell. He pulls the music from Itunes and the Amazon mp3 store. I'm sure he gets a referral fee, but I will buy from him to help support Inside the Magic.
Forget old Disney music, I want to buy the soundtrack for Brink!
Disney/ABC has a way of omitting any credit for the artists who do their records. Schoolhouse Rock is a good example. The songs on Multiplication Rock were written and sung by Bob Dorough yet his name, and the names of the other singers, are nowhere to be found.
I'm so confused...I thought we weren't supposed to buy music from iTunes: "So go on buying your Audible books, your iTunes DRM songs, your Zune media, your EA games... None of these companies will ever disappear, nor will the third-party DRM suppliers they use. They are as solid and permanent as Commodore, Atari, the Soviet Union, the American credit system and the Roman Empire."
