The Raconteurs' Antiques Roadshow-esque teaser
The Raconteurs are a good ol' rock and roll band featuring Jack White of The White Stripes and members of The Greenhornes and Blanche. The band and their label, Warner Bros, came up with a fun promotional schtick and asked if I'd like to premier it on BB. I checked out the video and it was really well done. In fact, I'm eager to see the rest of the "story." Called "Old To Gold," it starts with a spoof of Antiques Roadshow where a steampunky mystery device called a Raconteur is presented and valued. (I wish Jake von Slatt could somehow prank Antiques Roadshow to feature one of his real fake Steampunk devices!) Old To Gold, Buy MP3s by The Raconteurs

I am underwhelmed.
Here on boingboing.net, we see quite a few advertisements, but this may be the sole example of a plausible one.
LSK @2, What do you mean?
Love the Raconteurs, love this CD, the video... cute enough I guess.
I was never a White Stripes fan, but I went to see The Raconteurs in concert because I really liked Brendan Benson's solo stuff. Little did I know that I'd end up seeing a concert that easily was one of the ten best shows I've ever seen...
Bites donkey nads.
Nice original promo for a worthy band!
hahaha this is pretty cool
i love the raconteurs
The Raconteurs website is set up like one of those old dos menu programs for the XT and is all monochrome 80's computing goodness! So Sweet!

That's why some of us don't appreciate this.
It's a good album. Stop being a ninny.
