sorry to be the troll here but screw this.

house industries has some of the most prohibitive EULAs in all of fontdom. this pretense of fonts as art is part of the problem. sure they're supercool and groovy and lots of work goes into them, but they are TOOLS afterall. beautifully crafted tools.

let us just buy them and do whatever we want with them.

Remember the last time we talked about House Ind on BoingBoing and came to the general conclusion they're a bunch of arrogant jerks with skills nonetheless?

I happened to be browsing their site yesterday, rereading the FAQ and recalling these first impressions, when lo and behold! They added a question to their FAQ:

"Q: I read on a blog that you guys are arrogant and unapproachable."

Looks like we had an effect on them. For the best, I say. You can charge as much as you want for your product, but don't be aggressive about it, and don't accuse a potential buyer of being a cheapskate because you overprice.

In terms of BoingBoing's ethics, I'd suggest House Industries stops getting free traffic and advertising from this blog.

...and even worse, they say 'font' when they mean 'typeface'.
