Freebird Shears is launching a new line of hair dresser scissors influenced by tattoo art. The company's Dieter Scholtyssek tells me that the hammer-forged Japanese steel shears were "inspired by Elvis Crocker, a well known tattoo artist in Arlington, Texas (formerly of NYHC Tattoos)." When you handle the scissors, isn't the skull upside down?

Oh, yeah, but for hair cutting it's upside up.

I learned once that it's bad hair cutting technique to scissor with the knuckles toward their head because it increases the risk of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome/RSI. These scissors are shown in proper cutting orientation, with the hand in a "grabbing" position with the knuckles facing the cutter.
