Kawaii or Die!
The sword cuts well too!
Saw Tokyo Gore Police last week, and the commercials during it were fantastic! They also made very little sense... then again, this was a movie where a cop shoots bullets from his penis and a prostitute grows a giant boxcutter arm. So worth it.
In the title u forgot to put the y at the end of creepy! hurry and fix it before someone else notices!!! lol
Sarcasm doesn't transmit over the internet, and humor doesn't translate well. Seeing as this is both in a foreign language AND on the internet, it could just be sarcastically humorous, but then again, this is the same country that will turn ANYTHING into a cartoon girl mascot given the chance.
Too late. I noticed.
But they're doing it wrong!
Remember, kids...it's down the road, not across the street.
I saw a screening in Toronto last week.. This part stuck out because although people laughed uproariously during other gory bits, the theatre was noticeably quieter during the suicide accessory commercial.
Even in a totally insane movie with weird mutations and geysers of blood, that was what made people uncomfortable!
Marred by poor pacing, gore for the sake of excess rather than in service of the story, and suffering from being just plain boring much of the time, the commercials were the best part of Tokyo Gore Police. It was a real disappointment after the over the top fun of The Machine Girl.
#7 - Not that surprising, considering Japan has a suicide rate of over 30,000 per year. Add in all the people who try and fail, or contemplate it but never carry through...
Striking a wee bit close to home.
damn my poor reading comprehension..
i thought it was a real commercial for fake (prop) knives ..
my brain amused itself for a few seconds, hypothesizing just how this possibly came to be.
ah well good while it lasted
Translation to English (the parts I can hear):
design ga kawaii! - The design is cute!
kiru to, anmari itakunai! - When you cut, it doesn't hurt much!
chi ga oishikunaru! - The blood becomes tasty!
Risutokatta, getto! - Get a wrist-cutter!
Shinhatsubai- New item now on sale!
Ooi no dezain no katta da yo! - It's a cutter with many styles!
That said, WTF!
I have never, until now, heard of tokyo Gore Police, but from the title alone, I clearly need to see it.
Obviously, whoever created this comercial did not read the FAQ. It's down the river, not bank to bank.
I guess they were just being responsible.
Poster
Trailer (long version)
I really like the trailer, got a kind of Videodrome vibe off it, though if the whole film is as bloody as this, I probably wouldn't be able to handle it.
Many years ago, before I grew up and learned some respect, I loved cutters. They were the only chicks screwed up enough to do me.
So is there any sex in this Tokyo Gore Police? Cuz, ya know, that's what it takes to make *real* art.
noone ever said anything about japanese pop culture being tasteful.

sir (a reasonable guess, i feel), i applaud you, whilst shaking my head in shame. my own shame, to be clear.
Totally ruins my mental image of Japanese school girls. Bummer.
I love the company name at the end of the vid: Fever Dreams LLC
Whenever I see stuff like this I think that going to other planets is a waste of time, as there is plenty of far stranger stuff right here (and the strangest stuff often seems to be from Japan).
