Tiki mug sculpting time-lapse
Steve of The Sneeze says:
For the uninitiated, last year I thought we should start a theoretical band that we could all be in. We named ourselves The Tree Brains after the annual fungus that grows on my tree. Gary Taxali made a kick-ass logo, there were some shirts (which are all gone), a big Tree Brains Facebook group and now master tiki mug sculptor Henrik Van Ryzin agreed join in.Tree Brain Tiki Mug Time Lapse VideoAs you can see from the following video of Henrik in action, The Tree Brain Tiki Mugs are coming along beautifully.

Those are pretty great.
Where's the vid? I just have a big blank space where it should be. Same when I follow the link.
The video works fine for me.
Beautiful artwork, I'm not familiar with "The Sneeze." Are they affiliated with BB or just a site that BB likes? I'll check it out.
Neat to see this in time-lapse. Believe it or not, there are two schools of tiki carving/design (perhaps more, even): Big-toothed and normal or non-toothed tikis.
To me, the big toothed ones are garish and cartoony, and I much prefer the classic, vintage style. Check out the stuff at tikifarm.com for some fun mass-produced tiki items, or munktiki.com for what I think are the finest craftsman-like tikis out there, though they are priced accordingly.
i'm gonna raise the game.

You just lost the game (link's not working).
Whoah! You can't call that tiki!
It's a fucking monster face! Jeez.....
I'm from NZ, am part Maori, and don't get offended easily, but that is really really eurocentric and just plain unsensitive!
I like how he places plastic over one tiki as he's working on the other, so that neither knows exactly what is happening to the other until the big reveal.
