Bad Photoshop work on dental product website

Photdentio

The website for DenSheild contains a lot of information about the product, but I can't stop staring at the unusual photo of the model on its website.

I wonder how much they paid the designer for this? DenShield on Photoshop disasters

Not a photoshop. Side effect from using DenShield. Consult your dentist before using.

...You know, she *could* actually look like that in real life. I've seen some heads in my day that made that one look normal. Not that they were in anyone's ads, natch.

"No no no no no! I said I wanted to WHITEN my teeth, not WIDEN them."

But, she does have nice teeth. :)

Do not taunt DenShield.

I've seen that happen before when images are resized the wrong way for different width/height ratios.

I guess the Photoshop 'artist' wanted to find out what the Flatten command did, eh?

[I slay myself!]

Being able to move your eyes around independently on your face is freedom indeed, my friends.

It's like a Necker cube; I keep flipping between seeing it two different ways. One is that she has a really distorted face. The other is that she's a flat billboard print with 3D hair streaming out of it at a weird angle.

I guess that's what happens when a face transplant goes wrong.

This post from the same site has some great commentary. Exhibit B kills me!

The prob is they replaced the models face with that of another woman shot at a different angle. When they pasted it they didn't rotate crrectly and also the blend is horrible. Can't believe they woulfn't realize how retarded that looks.

Actually to clarify, they pasted over the top part of her head, eyes mostly and position/rotation is all wrong.

Reminds me of nothing so much as Sarah Jessica "foot with teeth" Parker.

Looks like Shannen Doherty is getting modeling work.

WHy is this assumed to be bad photoshop? Maybe they just decided to use a real person, instead of a model?

BB, this just comes off a cruel. You're usually better than that.

@Art Carnage: PLEASE tell us you're being sarcastic: both women, i'm sure, are perfectly "normal" and/or "attractive" on their own; however, this *obvious shoop* (is obvious... pixels... etc.) combines them into some horrible creature dimension-shifted into our plane.

And, I'm with Anon @ #12 - it *does* look sort of like him.

This is a real ugly job, BUT....
I must admit that at one job or another I have been asked/ordered to create some really ugly stuff and given a choice between paying my bills or defending all that is good and right aesthetically I have always chosen to pay my bills. That's just life, and no....I am not the person who created that graphic.

So this horse walks into the bar and the bartender says "Why the long face?" ba-dump cha! I'll be here all week ladies and gentlemen!

Doktor @14: If it's Liefeld, shouldn't she have her mouth open wider?

BBNinja @17, I'd guess it was two shots of the same woman.

Art Carnage @21, looking at the face in that ad doesn't make you feel like you just plowed into the Uncanny Valley at forty miles over the speed limit? Because that's how it affects me.

Here's how to see the problem: Go back to the picture. Better yet, print out a copy of it. Lightly trace the irregular line formed by the top of the model's cheekbones. Then, hold up your hand between your eyes and the printout so you can selectively blank out the top, then the bottom of her face. Compare the two back and forth several times.

What should become evident is that the upper and lower portions of her face don't point in the same direction. The lower portion is pointed more toward you.

People have different degrees of sensitivity to facial details. If you're within the normal range, you should be able to see that there's something wrong with the picture if you look at it closely for a while.

If you can't see the strangeness no matter how hard you try, and you've had this same kind of problem with other people anda pictures, you may be faceblind -- i.e., have prosopagnosia. About two percent of the population has it. Check out the info if you think it might be relevant.
