Toaster prints on bread
The Electrolux Scan Toaster is a prototype bread printer. So *that's* how the Virgin Mary ended up on a grilled cheese sandwich -- she used one of these!

I likes a bit 'o' jeebus on my toast! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=9699265
mass produced jesus toast! ohhh i feel a new money making scheme coming on... :oD
I'm guessing that isn't a USB connection. I can't imagine it can effectively toast bread with 500 milliamps.
Here is a sketch of a business case to persuade Procurement to get some of these for the office. The perennial problem here is that our printers are forever running out of paper and the incessant beeping of the empty laser printer drives us batty. My coworkers and I are constantly hoarding paper. I keep my stash behind my pc disguised as a pile of old newspapers. With an Electrolux Scan Toaster I and my coworkers would gladly supply our own bread. We can double up on our time at meetings too by eating our reports for lunch. We can also reduce recycling costs by taking old reports to the park and feeding them to the pidgeons.
Might make a nice custom branding iron for the intrepid hacker kidz.
Actually, I could put a stencil on a piece of bread and wet it down with a spray bottle, and produce just about any crude image on a piece of toast.
So much for that nonsense.
damn it! the toaster is jammed, AGAIN! reload bagel?! PC Loaf Letter?! What do these error messages mean!?
WANT.
Believe it or not I had tried Steaming Pile's trick, but it didn't work.
Stenciling on a positive image in butter did work, but also created enough smoke to set of the smoke detector, which just pisses off my wife.
this is both the dumbest and the coolest thing i have ever seen!
Yeah, but when can we print on BREAD STICKS?
One word: Toastse.
It's only a concept-- *not* a prototype.
There was another hi-res toaster concept posted here about a year ago:

t's ll bt th Mhmmd tst, frnds.
You can also use a laser cutter to get the same effet if one's available to you. you just need to set the strength really low and the speed really fast.
Oskay, ditto. And what is it with all these digital-toast-printer concepts, anyway?
I have a certain amount of dig for the idea, but someone should just man-up and produce one, instead of playing this see-what-the-bloggers-think-if-we-mock-one-up-in-photoshop game.
Give me digital toast prints, or never speaketh of it again!
My toaster prints 'Hello Kitty' on my bread. True story. Now if only it could work on the religious icons too... Mmmm, I have a hankering for tasty Buddha bread (I should so copyright that...).
Hey Kat my roommate has a Hello Kitty toaster too!
I swear if my guy friends bought one there'd be grilled porn sandwiches everywhere. LMAO!
