Today on TokyoMango, I wrote about a newly found
stack of Occupation-era letters written by an American woman in 1940s Japan;
a robot that will help you find cool t-shirts at Uniqlo; and a
guitarist from a famous heavy metal band who now lives in Japan. I also
celebrated my blog's two-year anniversary and revisited some of my first blog posts ever.
( Lisa Katayama is a guest blogger.)
That's a pretty diverse day of posting.
I see short steps from a robot that helps you shop, to a robot that talks you into buying things, to a robot that just shakes you down when you enter the store. But I for one welcome our metallic overlords, even if the inevitable robot revolution is bloodless and economic.
Me: I'd like a t-shirt with a tortoise on it.
Robot: Tortoise? What's that?
Me: Know what a turtle is?
Robot: Of course.
Me: Same thing.
Robot: I've never seen a turtle on a t-shirt before. But I understand what you mean. We can get it for you wholesale.
Congrats, Lisa! I enjoy TokyoMango, but I have yet to figure out why it repeatedly crashes Firefox 3 — I'll have it in one tab and switch to another tab (like BoingBoing), then back, and the whole browser goes down. Ah well.
A quick question: did you (or who made) your blog's header? It's so awesome and your overall theme is a lot of cohesive fun.
Torley--I had a design contest, and this guy James won and made it. He was so humble he didn't even want credit for it!

I have the same problem with FF3 as Torley. What's up with that?
